Davis N. Demerly, 33, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 22, 2014, at IU Health Goshen Hospital. He was born March 1, 1981 in Goshen to Dearl Brown and Dorla Demerly. On New Year's Eve 2010, he married Laura Yoder at the Goshen Theater. She survives along with a son, Devin Danger Demerly, at home; and a baby to born in December; his father, Dearl Brown and six siblings, Keneat (Jamie) Riley, Julie Brown and Anna Brown, all of Goshen, Tina Thibodeaux, Dallas, Texas; and two brothers, DJ Brown, Middlebury and Clint Brown, Dallas, Texas. Davis considered many close friends as part of his family. The Barkes, the Griffiths, Kay Doty and many others were loved and accepted as family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorla Demerly. A lifetime Goshen resident, Davis, worked as a cabinet maker for Dutch Park Homes. Davis was a movie buff, a collector, an artist, a basketball fan and he had a love for cars. He loved animals and gave much love and attention to his two dogs, Skittles and Peaches. He was an adoring father, loving husband, amazing son, caring brother and a best friend to many. Davis was known for his charismatic character that was easily loved and admired. Friends may call 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m., Friday at Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church, Goshen, where a 10 a.m., Saturday funeral service will be conducted. Cremation will follow the service and burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Davis Demerly Benefit-Memorial at Interra Credit Union.
