David O. Woods, Sr.

David O. Woods, Sr., 63, of Goshen, died early Sunday morning, July 20, 2008, at Our Lady of Peace Hospital in South Bend. He was born on January 14, 1945, in Comfort, West Virginia, to Oscar and Evelyn (Long) Woods.  He married Marry Prater on December 20, 1970, in Milford, Indiana.  She survives. Mr. Woods served in the US Army and upon his discharge in 1970 he moved to this area.  He worked for five years in the stockroom for Elkhart Brass and 14 years for Hoskins Manufacturing in New Paris. He is survived by his wife, Mary; a son, David (Kori) Woods, Jr. of Mishawaka; a daughter, Tonya (tony) Griffin of Goshen; three grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Eary of Cedar Grove, West Virginia, Joretta Taylor of Whitesville, West Virginia, and Fay Ruckner of Seth, West Virginia; and two brothers, Henry (Jacky) Woods of Cabin Creek, West Virginia and Daniel (Phyllis) Woods of Orgas, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 22, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pastor Peter Ramie of Church of God, E. Lincoln Ave., Goshen will officiate.
