David S. Yoder, 91, of Goshen, died early Sunday morning, December 5, 2010, at The Gables at Greencroft Healthcare. He was born in Greenwood, Delaware on November 18, 1919 to David S. and Savilla (Bender) Yoder, Sr. He married Clara Mae Schlabach in Conneautville, Pennsylvania on December 26, 1941. She died January 23, 2003. He is survived by two daughters, Ilva (David) Hertzler of Milford, Delaware, and Karen (Steve) Miller of Goshen; two sons, Don (Marlene) Yoder of Pulaski, Virginia, and Ken (Kathy) Yoder of Quakertown, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Miriam Hull of Wythville, Virginia; and three brothers, Daniel Yoder and Jesse (Gladys) Yoder, both of Dover, Delaware, and Paul T. (Daisy) Yoder of Harrisonburg, Virginia. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Bontrager and Naomi Yoder; and four brothers, John, Amos and twins, Mark and Luke Yoder. A Goshen resident since October 2003, Mr. Yoder attended Living Water Mennonite Church, Goshen. He was a member of the Laws Mennonite Church, Milford, Delaware. He served his CPS at Greystone Park, New Jersey and he also did mission work in Knoxville, Tennessee. He had worked as an X-ray technician for over 50 years, retiring in the late 1990's. He was a self-taught man, widely read and intensively studying the scriptures. He found enjoyment in vegetable gardening. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 7 at Living Water Mennonite Church, 65217 CR 27, Goshen. Further visitation and funeral services will be held at Greenwood Mennonite Church, Greenwood, Delaware. Burial will be in Greenwood Mennonite Church Cemetery, Greenwood, Delaware.
