David Rader, Sr., 68, of Goshen died Monday evening, April 25, 2016 at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born October 15, 1947 in Goshen to Victor P. and Joan (Leatherman) Rader, Jr.
On February 14, 1970 he married Charlotte “Charli” Borntrager at Jefferson Brethren Church, Goshen.
She survives along with two daughters, Traci W. Rader of Goshen and Brandi W. Rader of Fort Wayne; a son, David C. Rader, Jr. of Goshen; two grandchildren, Trent M. and Renee N. Rader; a great-grandson, Michael A. Consentino; a brother, Jeffery B. (Cynthia) Rader of Middlebury; and two uncles, Tom (Becky) Leatherman of Goshen and Royce Rader of South Bend.
A U.S. Army veteran, David was the first Viet Nam veteran to be a life member at the Goshen VFW Post #985. He was also a member of the Goshen DAV #15.
David, along with his wife Charli, owned and operated Dave & Charli’s Chicago Avenue Pub.
Friends may call Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11:30 a.m. funeral service will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016. Pastor Denny McOwen will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
