David J. McIlwain

David J. McIlwain, 79, of Goshen died Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Goshen Hospital.

He was born November 18, 1946 in Columbus, Indiana to James A. and Dorothy (Oaks) McIlwain.

Survivors include his wife, Kimie McIlwain, children, Connie (Henry) Sears, Goshen, Jason (Amanda) Cripe, Syracuse, Ryan (Debbie) McIlwain, Goshen and Virginia (James) Epps, Dufur, Oregon; nine grandchildren, Karter, Noah, A.J., Kian, Scarlett, AnnDee, Summit, Haley and Brittany; and a brother, Daren (Darlien) McIlwain, Columbus.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. McIlwain served from 1968-1972 and was a member of the V.F.W. and N.R.A..

David helped to build the family business, The Coffee Depot, in Goshen. He had many interests and enjoyed rock collecting, painting, woodworking, taking things apart and putting them back together. He also enjoyed target shooting and going to the shooting range.

Above all David was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
