David H. Martinez

David H. Martinez, 61, of Goshen, died Wednesday morning, April 22, 2009, in the emergency room at Goshen General Hospital. He was born in Texas on October 2, 1947, to Raul and Teodora (Hernandez) Martinez.   He married Mary Norton in Goshen in June 1972.  She survives. A 40 year Goshen resident, Mr. Martinez was owner and operator of Martinez Paint and Body in Goshen.  He had also worked at Western Rubber for 24 years. Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Sally (Ruben) Ponce and Pauline Martinez, both of Goshen; a son, David Martinez, Jr. of Carlisle; nine grandchildren; seven sisters, Aimee Mancha, Ruth (Hugo) Cisneros, both of Brownsville, Texas, Norma Martinez of Donna, Texas, Sandra (Erineo) Granado, Thelma Castro, O'tilia Martinez and Diana (Hector) Flores, all of Brownsville, Texas; and three brothers, Eliazar (Ginny) Martinez of Goshen, Raul (Lupe) Martinez of Muskegon, Michigan, and Hector Martinez of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was preceded in death by a sister, Rosie Martinez. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 1:00 p.m. funeral service will be conducted. Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to La Casa.
