David Joseph Knisel

David J. Knisel, 75, of Mooresville, North Carolina, and formerly of Goshen, died Saturday evening, March 7, 2015 after a three year illness. He was born June 25, 1939 in Lucas, Ohio to Dale and Marie (Schwartz) Knisel. On June 6, 1960 he married Nancy Tucker. She died April 11, 1965. He later married Barbara Latimer in August 1988. She died in 2000. Survivors include two sons, Mike Knisel of Denton, Texas and Mitchell Knisel of Swanton, Ohio; a daughter, Anita Squirrell of Williston, Tennessee; four grandchildren: Brandon, Janelle, Jacholah and Kristen; and a sister, Rita Knisel of Toledo, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, and a son, Mark Knisel in 1999. A U.S. Army and Navy veteran, David lived most of his life in the Toledo area, but also in the Goshen area with his young family for a time until to the 1965 tornado tradegy; then in Connecticut and eventually moving to North Carolina. Friends and family will meet at noon on Friday, March 20, 2015, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home to go in procession to Elkhart Prairie Cemetery for a graveside service and burial.
