David N. Hostetter, 79, of Nappanee, died Saturday evening, March 23, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born December 26, 1933 in South Bend to Russell and Edna (Yoder) Hostetter. He married Lois Fox December 23, 1956 in Nappanee. She survives along with three children; David (Sue) Hostetter, and Jill (Gerry Neff) Slabaugh, both of Nappanee, and Amy Jo (Lyn) Chupp of Goshen; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, William (Caroline) Hostetter of Nappanee and Daniel (Nancy) Hostetter of Paso Robles, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Russell Hostetter and a sister, Elizabeth "Betty Jo" Yoder. A 1951 graduate of Nappanee High School, Dave served with the US Army from 1956 to 1957 and retired in 1998 from the Nappanee Post Office. A 35 year property owner on Stone Lake, Dave enjoyed the outdoors, especially bird watching and planting flowers. A 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2013, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Jan Brown of First Mennonite Church, Nappanee will officiate. A private burial will be held at South Union Cemetery, Nappanee. Memorial contributions may be made to First Mennonite Church, Nappanee.
