David A. Fowler, 64, of Goshen died Friday morning, December 9, 2016 at Goshen Hospital, following an extended illness.
He was born September 18, 1952 in Goshen to Charles and Ernestine (Howard) Fowler.
On February 26, 2003 he married Amy (Klepper) Callaghan in Las Vegas.
She survives along with his children, Cory (Heather) Fowler of Goshen, Darci (Chris) Tews of Cleveland, Ohio and Ryan (Jessica) Fowler of Goshen; step-children, Sally (Aaron) DeVisser and Daniel (Kate) Callaghan, both of Kalamazoo, Michigan; seven grandchildren; a sister, Karla Newcomer of Goshen; and former wife, Stephanie Dillon of Middlebury.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father, Donald Albert; brother, Dennis Fowler; and a sister, Cheryl Kaye Kidd.
A 1971 graduate of Goshen High School, David served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a very patriotic citizen and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He was a member and past president of the Goshen Jaycees.
David worked at Smoker-Craft, Inc. for 38 years doing cost accounting. He enjoyed fishing, oldies music and old western and crime dramas. He spent many holidays as Santa Claus for family and friends. His most treasured time was spent with family, especially children and grandchildren.
Friends may call Monday, December 12, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11 a.m. funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. Pastor Terry Tyler will officiate.
Burial with military honors will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
