David Randall Currier

May 15, 1946 — February 21, 2016

David R. Currier, 69, of Statesville, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 15, 1946 in Goshen to George E. and Harriett E. (Monschein) Currier.

On September 29, 1983 he married Lois J. Hardt in Louisville, Kentucky.

She survives along with a son, Jay David Currier of Lake Station; a daughter, Laura (Richard) Quinton of Leonia, New Jersey; two grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald (Barbara) Currier of La Quinta, California and Thomas (Maria) Currier of San Francisco, California; a step-sister, Elta (Scott) Bradford of Goshen, two step-brothers, Dave (Lisa) Sylvester of Goshen and Glenn (Walda) Sylvester of Fort Myers, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-brother, Terry Sylvester.

A 1964 graduate of Goshen High School and a 1969 graduate of Ball State University, David was very proud of starting a flag football league in the Indianapolis area. He ran the program for five years. He enjoyed playing guitar at “old time music” festivals.

Friends may call Friday, February 26, 2016 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Stroup of Pentecostal Church of South Lake of Merrillville, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.
