David Chester Buschert, 78, of Goshen died Monday afternoon, November 1, 2010, at his home. He was born January 22, 1932 in Preston, Ontario, Canada, to Chester and Mary Edna (Snyder) Buschert. He married Joyce Stutzman on December 28, 1954 in Milford, Nebraska. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Beth (Mark) Hooley of Santa Cruz, California, and Jill Kennel of South Bend; and a granddaughter, Nadia Zaid of Mendoza, Argentina. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert C. and Donald Buschert. He and his wife moved here from South Bend in April. He was a member of Kern Road Mennonite Church and Hesston Steam Museum, Hesston, Indiana. He retired as a civil engineer from Columbia Gas of Ohio. He graduated from Hesston College, Goshen College and Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, November 5, in the Koinonia Room at College Mennonite Church, Goshen where the funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday, November 6, 2010. Rev. June Alliman Yoder and Rev. Ron Kennel will officiate. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery, Elkhart. Memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Central Committee or Goshen Care at Home Hospice.
