David C. Bemenderfer

David C. Bemenderfer, 82, died Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Esther’s House in Elkhart.

He was born July 6, 1944, in Goshen, to George W. and Priscilla D. (Slusher) Bemenderfer.

On September 24, 1967, he married Carolyn “Jenell” Waldrop in Goshen.

She survives, along with daughter Trina (Kevin) Billsborough of Elkhart; two grandchildren, Briana (Jon) Trausch, and Michael (Kiley) Billsborough; great-grandchildren, Jerry James III “Trace,” Mason James, Gracelynn Trausch, Addelynn Billsborough, Juliette Billsborough, and Luke, Henry, and Ben Trausch.

David was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bryan Bemenderfer in 1991, and infant half-brother, Larry Alwine.

David was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Following high school, he began working at Goshen Sash and Door, where he was employed for 44 years and became the general manager. He was a longtime member of the First Brethren Church in Goshen.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 29, from 10:30 a.m. until the 12 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, in Goshen, with military honors.
