David E. Ankrom

David E. Ankrom, 55, of Elkhart died Friday, April 15, 2022 at Goshen Hospital.

He was born October 15, 1966 in Muncie, Indiana to Joseph L. Ankrom, Sr. and Carolyn Sue Bergk.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Carolyn Sue Bergk of Florida; his companion of more than 17 years, Melissa Chupp; a son, Rusty Ankrom of Elkhart; and three grandchildren, Madison, Jaxson and Eleanor Ankrom.

He is also survived by six siblings; Rick Ankrom, Joseph Ankrom, Jr., Joeann Page, Christopher Ankrom, Crystal Williams and Travis Yoder.

Mr. Ankrom worked at Smoker Craft, Inc., in New Paris, prior to early retirement due to health issues.

David enjoyed bowling, being outside fishing, and was an avid Indiana Colts fan. He also appreciated the older model “muscle” cars and hot rods.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Cremation will follow the service.
