David A. Anderson, 96, of Hesston, Kansas and formerly of Goshen, died Monday, March 8, 2010 at Schowalter Villa Nursing Home in Hesston. He was born in Fair Oaks, Indiana, on November 7, 1913 to Albert J. and Susanna (Miller) Anderson. He married Elta Holaway on June 12, 1943, in Provo, Utah. She preceded him in death in February 2002. A Goshen resident until 2002, Mr. Anderson served in Civilian Public Services for four and a half years during World War II. He worked as an electrician and was a member of the International Brotherhood Electrical Workers and the National Electrical Contractors Association. He was a former member of North Main Street Mennonite Church, Nappanee and College Mennonite Church, Goshen and a member of Whitestone Mennonite Church, Hesston. He is survived by three daughters, Barbara (Russell) Graber of Newton, Kansas, Kathryn (Lester) Snyder of Indianapolis and Diane (Elliott) Amstutz of Galva Kansas; a son, David L. (Sharon DeBliek) Anderson of Hesston; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded by four brothers, Tobias, Mannas, Roman and John Anderson; and a sister, Mabel Lindzy. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 3:00 p.m., at Schowalter Villa Chapel, Hesston, Kansas. Pastor Denni Jantzi will officiate. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery, Nappanee. Memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Disaster Service.
