Darlene J. Hochstetler, 60, died Thursday morning, March 3, 2011, at her home. She was born February 28, 1951 in Elkhart County to the late John and Susie (Hershberger) Miller. On November 22, 1969 she married Alvin A. Hochstetler in Centerville, Mich. He survives. Also surviving are daughters, Marcia D. (Morris) Hoover, Goshen, Sheila R. (Calvin) Yoder, Wakarusa, and Jeralyn F. (Steve) Weaver, Bremen; son Kenlyn R. (Sara) Hochstetler, Goshen; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Mary J. Schmucker and Polly J. Miller, both of Goshen; and brothers, Melvin J. (Iva) Miller, Sarasota, Fla., and Alvin J. (Marcella) Miller, Goshen. She was preceded by a son, Kevin L. Hochstetler, in 1970. A lifetime area resident she was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church. She was a seamstress and homemaker and had worked at Meredith’s Sewing Corner. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday and 2-4 and 6-8 pm Saturday at Bethel Mennonite Church, Nappanee. The funeral service will be at 2 pm Sunday at Fairhaven Mennonite Church, Goshen. Bethel Home Ministry and Rev. Eli Yoder will officiate. Burial will be at Thomas Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Cleveland Clinic Foundation for brain tumor research.
