Danny Max Mclaughlin

July 20, 1936 — May 8, 2025

Danny Max McLaughlin, 88, of Goshen, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025. A devoted Christian, Danny is now at peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior.

Danny was born on July 20, 1936, to Daniel and Mildred McLaughlin. He grew up in Manitou Beach, Michigan, and graduated in 1955 from Addison High School. He went on to serve honorably in the United States Air Force before completing his business degree at Cleary College. Danny then dedicated over 15 years as a police officer with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department.

Over the course of his life, Danny lived in many places that marked meaningful chapters. He raised his children in Milan, Michigan, and spent time in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Yuma, Arizona. He later lived in Northfield, Minnesota, near his wife Roberta’s family, before moving to assisted living in Goshen, Indiana, where he spent his final years close to his own children.

He was a man of many passions. He loved golf, fishing, and reading true crime stories. He raised and showed Paso Fino horses and took great pride in time spent at the barn. He was an avid fan of the University of Michigan, especially their football and basketball teams. Danny was known for his fun-loving spirit, quick wit, and upbeat personality. His strong faith guided him throughout his life, and he brought joy and laughter to those around him.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Mildred McLaughlin; his brother, James McLaughlin; and his sister, Patricia Yeitter.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta; his children: Pamela (Brad) Tomecek, Angela (Larry) Stewart, and Scott (Robin) McLaughlin. His beloved grandchildren include Jordan (Daniel) Eichorst and Olivia Tomecek; Courtney, Carter, and Carina Stewart; and Ivy, Tyler, Evanescence, and Colt McLaughlin. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Sophia, Eloise, Lucy, Ezra, and Zola. Additionally, he is survived by Roberta’s children and grandchildren, whose love and support enriched his life.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Waterford Crossings Health Center, Goshen Home Care & Hospice, and Yoder-Culp Funeral Home for their compassionate care and support during this time.

Dad, you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, and you have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits you—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give you.
— 2 Timothy 4:7–8
