Daniel Philip Walter

Daniel P. Walter, 93, of Goshen, died Saturday, September 22, 2018, at his home.

He was born July 4, 1925 in New Paris to Henry and Gertie Walter.

On June 23, 1956 he married Judith Bushong in New Paris.

She survives along with four children, Dar Moon of Seabrook, Texas, Greg (Shirley) Walter and Val (Dallas) Haney, both of Goshen and Henry Walter of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a brother, Dale Walter of Elkhart.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by daughters, Paulette in 1967 and Gina Howard in 2017; a son, Christopher in 2011 and siblings, Lilly Postma Overholt, Art, Robert and Glenn Walter and Violet Miller.

A 1943 graduate of New Paris High School, Mr. Walter served with the US Army in 1950.  He retired in 1987 from Farm Bureau Co-Op.

He was a charter member of the Goshen Iron Horseman Club and his passion was cutting wood.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 25, 2018, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.  A 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, memorial service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Burial will be later in Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee.
