Daniel Harold Stoltzfus MBA, MTh, 86, of Goshen, died early Wednesday morning, September 14, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving family after being diagnosed with a brain tumor 6 weeks ago. He was born October 20, 1924 in Martinsburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Daniel D. and Martha (Barbe) Stoltzfus. He married Rosalie Garber June 9, 1949 in Jackson, Minnesota. She preceded him in death December 3, 2009. He is survived by six daughters, Priscilla Dawn (Jan Trinkley), Jane Ellen (Jim Buller), Jean Helen (Robert Martin), Danile Rose (John Martens), Miriam Faye (Michael DeShield) and Lois Renee (John Mast), 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd Daniel in 1973 and two brothers, Robert and William Bryan Stoltzfus. Daniel and Rosalie spent three years in the Far East as MCC relief workers. He then worked 20 years in school administration for the Mishawaka Schools. Brother Dan' was well loved as pastor at Hudson Lake Mennonite Church, and Community Mennonite Church. Upon retirement he was an active member of Kern Road Mennonite Church and then Walnut Hill Mennonite Church. He was also a respected and loved member of the birding community. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 16, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Burial in Violett Cemetery will follow a family prayer service Saturday morning. An 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 17, 2011, memorial service will be conducted at Walnut Hill Mennonite Church, Goshen, with Pastor Randy Miller officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Nature Conservancy, Indiana Chapter, and MCC Peace Work.
