Daniel J. Keim, 97, of Goshen, passed away Sat. May 11, at Waterford Crossing Health Campus.
He was born April 12, 1927, in Middlebury, to Menno and Libbie (Rhinesmith) Keim.
Mr. Keim married Bette M. Kaut on April 15, 1951. She preceded him in death on January 30, 2022.
Surviving are children Stephen Keim, of Waynesboro, Virginia, and Gregory Allen Keim, of Goshen; grandchildren Lori (Troy) Grimm, Michelle (Kendall) Grubb, and Stephen (Melissa) Keim; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Preceding Daniel in death were his wife Bette, daughter-in-law Louise Keim, sisters Rachel, Mary, and Miriam Miller, Katherine Hochstetler, Ruth and Martha Keim, and brothers Wilbur and Walter Keim.
Daniel was a 1945 graduate of Middlebury High school. He worked at Western Rubber for 48 years. He was a former member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church of Goshen, and was a current member of Middlebury First United Methodist Church. Mr. Keim was a member of the Elkhart County Exchange Club, and had worked at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home for 31 years.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. funeral service, which will take place at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Bob Vale will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church, Middlebury.
