Damdouane Mounsithiraj 66, of Centreville, Michigan died Friday afternoon, January 11, 2013, at IU Health Goshen Hospital, after recently being diagnosed with cancer of the gall bladder. She was born Sept. 10, 1946 in Vientiene, Laos. On March 21,1965 she married Theuang Mounsithiraj. He died in 2006. She is survived by a daughter, Khingkham, of Centreville, Mich.; four sons, Thavisak (Anita), Thavisith (Jean), Viratham (Amy), and Manotham (Kristen O'Dell), all of Goshen; nine grandchildren; a niece, Michele Kerschner, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; three sisters, Khankeo (Bill) Kerschner, of Sturgis, Mich., Synoune and Khamphan, both in Laos; and two brothers, Khankham Luangrath, of Centreville, Mich., and Phoukham Mounsithiraj, Laos. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Phonethip; and a brother, Thongkhoun. Damdouane was a devoted mother and grandmother. For the past 15 years her work at Amigo Centre brought her into the lives of many others who will never forget her. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2013 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 memorial service will be held at Amigo Centre, Sturgis, Mich., with a time of fellowship after the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to Amigo Centre.
