Dallas L. Martin, 75, formerly of Topeka, died Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at ShorePoint Health, Port Charlotte, Florida.
He was born March 20, 1949 in Elkhart to Monroe and Emma (Kulp) Martin, Jr.
On July 11, 1970 he married Sandra Glass in Paris, Ohio. She preceded him in death on August 1, 2013. He later married Linda Hooley on January 13, 2018.
She survives along with his children, Sharon (Keith) Shiltz, LaGrange, Christina (Peter) Carpenter, Goshen, and Kenneth (Tina) Martin, LaGrange; four step-children, Brenda (Bill) Gordon, Bronson, Michigan, Brent Hochstetler, Indianapolis, Lori Rewa, Middlebury, and Lisa (Darren) Gottschaulk, Sturgis, Michigan; six grandchildren and five step-grandchildren, Clark (Laura), Conner (Aleka), Nicole (Nathaniel), Ashley (Amos), Audri, Derrick, Jordan, Alyson (Cody), Kevin, Laci and Skylar; and three great-grandchildren, Georgia, Olivia and Hannah.
Six siblings also survive, Marciel (Dean) Martin, Nappanee, Melba (Luke) Hoover, Goshen, Lucinda (Burnell) Martin, Shelton, Wisconsin, Delores (Arthur) Bechtel, Marlette, Michigan, Donald (Esther) Martin, Decker, Michigan and Verlin (Charlotte) Martin, Bristol.
A long-time member of the Topeka community, Dallas was a livestock auctioneer for 50 years at the Topeka Livestock Auction. He was also a cattle dealer and owner of Grogg-Martin Auctioneers and Real Estate.
Dallas was previously an active member at Maple Grove Church, Topeka, and was currently a very involved member of Pine Creek Chapel, Arcadia, Florida. He was also a member of the Topeka Lions Club, Topeka Chamber of Commerce, and the LaGrange County 4-H Fair Association.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday, May 10, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. A 10 a.m. funeral service will be held Saturday, May 11, at Maple City Chapel.
Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Topeka.
