Dale O. Stout, 84 of Goshen passed away Friday, May 9, 2025 at Esther’s Hospice House, Elkhart.
He was born June 21, 1940 in Kendallville to Charles E. and Mabel C. (Crow) Stout. They preceded him in death.
On Nov. 18, 1962 he married Phyllis J. Merriman at Pleasant Hill Church, Bronson, Michigan. She died May 5, 2021.
He is survived by a son, Tim (Lisa) Stout of Bristol; a daughter, Rebecca (Steve) Schlabach of Goshen; four grandchildren, Amanda (Aaron) Koszyk, Amy (Franklin) Ennis, Erica (Jordan) Mundy and Michael (Elizabeth) Schlabach; 11 great-grandchildren, Cody and Cayden Sherman, Katelyn Koszyk, Anastasia, Maximus, Chloe, Azriella, Brielle, Moriah, Josiah, Octavius and Caledonia Ennis, and Asher, Elliana and William Mundy; a sister, Carolyn (Jeff) Farver of LaGrange; cousin, Wyman (Wilma) Collins of Fort Wayne; and special friend Dorothy Kistler.
A 1958 graduate of LaGrange High School, Mr. Stout also studied at Fort Wayne Bible College. He was a former member of Zion Missionary Church where he served as an usher and Deacon.
Dale was a member of the Johnny Poppers John Deere Tractor Club, a dog lover, and known as a man of prayer and for “always known for being on your team”.
Services will be held at Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church, 61115 S. R. 15, Goshen, where Dale was a current member.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday, May 15 beginning at 9 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service. Pastor Craig Garber will officiate.
Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Goshen.
