Dale "Bondy" L. Bontrager

Dale "Bondy" L. Bontrager, 71, of Goshen, died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home Saturday morning, September 13, 2014. He was born June 15, 1943 in Comins, Michigan to Delbert and Grace (Shank) Bontrager. On June 12, 1988 he married Donnette Rhodes in Goshen. She survives along with two step-children, Angie Kipp of Syracuse and Jason Schwartz of Goshen; his mother, Grace Bontrager of Fairview, Michigan; five grandchildren; and six siblings, Nancy (Ron) Bradley of Michigan, Martha (Mike) Brudney of South Milford, Lisa (Phil) Larrison, Deb (Roger) Gaynor and Brian (Judy) Bontrager, all of Michigan and Kevin (Shelly) Bontrager of Paris, France. He was preceded in death by his father, a granddaughter, Gretchen Kipp and a son-in-law, Ryan Kipp. A longtime area resident, Mr. Bontrager owned and operated Goshen Glass and Mirror. After selling his business he worked for Quality Glass until his retirement. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Vette Set of Elkhart County. He enjoyed NASCAR and Michigan football. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A private funeral service will be conducted and cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
