Dale L. Hoover, 73, of Goshen went to his final reward on December 4, 2020.
He was born August 23, 1947 in Elkhart to Arthur and Gladys (Reichelt) Hoover.
On August 31, 1968, he was greatly blessed and married Bonnie J. Miller. They worked hard, laughed, fought, saved and owned many apartment buildings over their 52 years of marriage.
Dale is survived by his wife Bonnie; a son, Scott L. (Audra) Hoover of Goshen; a daughter, Dawn M. (Kasey) Wright of Bradenton, Florida; five sisters, Helene Hoover, Valerie Martin, Linda (Derek Gwadera) Hoover, Dorothy (Warren) Hege, and Lora (Bob) Wimer; a sister in law, Susan (Jerry Hoover); and a brother, Glenn (Ann) Hoover. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jerry.
A longtime resident of Goshen, Dale enjoyed spending the last 11 winters in Florida in retirement. He was an active member at Pleasant View Church,Goshen and Sarasota Community Church, Florida. He was a licensed plumber, electrician and HVAC technician for many years. He and Bonnie worked hard together in their rental business for 36 years.
Dale graduated from Flambeau High School, in Tony, Wisconsin. He attended IUSB. He also taught several years at North Central Plumbing Heating Cooling Council School in Elkhart, Indiana.
Dale never knew a stranger and would willingly give his last shirt off his back. In retirement, he spent time volunteering with Mennonite Disaster Service and was always quick to help widows and others in need.
Dale enjoyed cross word puzzles and playing Euchre. He also found great enjoyment riding on his boat and traveling both nationally and internationally.
Due to Covid concerns, there will be no visitation. A small private funeral will be on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 10 a.m., at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Pastor Ron Diener will officiate.
A public memorial service will be held Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Pleasant View Church, 58529 C.R. 23, Goshen.
Memorial contributions may be given to MCC Water Project or Pleasant View Building Fund.
