Dale C. Henderson, 76, of Goshen, died early Thursday afternoon, July 20, 2006, at Goshen General Hospital after an extended illness. He was born August 3, 1029, in Saltville, Virginia, to Wayne and Anna (Snead) Henderson. He served in the US Air Force from 1946 to 1949. On March 14, 1953, he married Nancy L. DeBord, in Marion, Virginia. She survives. Mr. Henderson moved to Goshen in 1953 from Virginia. He retired in 1991, after 34 years, as foreman at Western Rubber. He was a member of the Little Pine Church of the Brethren. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed the lawn around his home. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; a daughter, Denise (Don Jr.) Battles of Goshen; a brother, Paul (Elvita) Henderson of Goshen and a sister, Elthel Wagner of Portsmouth, Virginia. He was preceded in death by a brother, King Henderson and three sisters, Virginia Stanley, Ruth Henderson and Gladys Hockett. Friends may call 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, July 23, and from 9 to 10 a.m., Monday, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m. funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home on Monday, July 24, 2006. Rev. John McFarland and retired Pastor Tom Clark, both of the Little Pine Church of the Brethren along with Rev. Robert Wood will officiate. Burial will be in the Little Pine Cemetery, Elkhart. Memorial contributions may be made to the Little Pine Church of the Brethren Roof Fund.
