Dale A. Culp, 74, of Bristol, died Friday afternoon, March 6, 2009, at The Maples where he was admitted on March 2, 2009. He had been ill the past year. He was born in Elkhart on January 22, 1935, to Charles and Irene (Fultz) Culp. He married Ruthie Swihart on October 23, 1969, in Elkhart. She survives. A lifelong resident of the area, Mr. Culp was self-employed as a painter. He was a musician and a circus fan. He is survived by his wife, Ruthie; three daughters, Janel (Larry) Kuntz of Cassopolis, Michigan, Marla (Brad) White of Mason, Ohio, and Darcie (Mike) Hartman of Goshen; a son, Jeff Culp of Elkhart; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Rachel (Norman) Osborne of Cheboygan, Michigan; a half sister, Barbara (Art) Hallock of South Carolina; and two half-brothers, Robert (Marge) Reed of Florida, and Bruce Reed of Michigan. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 10 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home A 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2009, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Rob Meckley of the Adamsville Road Church of God will officiate. Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elkhart County Humane Society or to the Adamsville Road Church of God.
