Dale E. Capon, 84, of Goshen, died Saturday evening, May 3, 2014, at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital where he had been since April 25. He was born October 23, 1929 in Miles City, Montana to Charles A. and Alma E. (Bolan) Capon. On June 16, 1951 he married Shirley A. Overlie in Austin, Minnesota. She survives along with three children, Christine (David) Boehner of Goshen, Timothy D. (Sandy)Capon of Ankeny, Iowa and Peter C. (Janine) Capon of Goshen; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a brother, Paul E. (Beverly) Capon of Alpharetta, Georgia. He graduated in 1951 from the University of Minnesota in civil engineering and worked for S.J. Groves and Sons Construction Company, Minneapolis from 1953-83. Mr. Capon moved to Goshen in 1983 to serve as president and C.E.O. of Rieth-Riley Construction Company. He retired in 1994. A U.S. Army Veteran, he was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Wakarusa, The Gideons and formerly served on the boards of Rieth-Riley, Greencroft, Hubbard Hills and Bethel College. He enjoyed grand scale construction, hunting, fishing and golfing. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 7, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11:30 a.m., Thursday, May 8, 2014, funeral service will be conducted. Pastor David Harper, Bible Baptist Church, Wakarusa, will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse or Bible Baptist Church Youth Ministry.
