Curtis Lee Henderson, 77, of Goshen, passed away Sunday afternoon, October 25, 2009, at his home after battling cancer since August. A resident of Goshen since 1955, Curtis was born in Sulligent, Alabama, to Grody R. and Minnie (Carter) Henderson on February 6, 1932. He married Josephine Mohler on August 18, 1978 in Goshen. She survives. He worked at Homecrest for 23 ½ years as a special saw man. He belonged to Wetland Archery Club of Syracuse, Indiana, and was a member of Solomon Creek United Methodist Church. Curtis loved his garden, archery, and crafts, such as building birdfeeders and snowmen. He was also an avid hunter. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Dwana (Charlie) Baucom of Columbus, Mississippi; three sons, Scott (Andrea) Henderson and Ricky (Tawnya) Henderson of Middlebury, and Mike (Melody) Feaster of Warsaw, Indiana; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Etheleen Prince of Goshen, Vergie (Jim) Chism of Columbus, Mississippi, and Clifford Henderson, Columbus, Mississippi; and one brother, Ollie (Linda) Henderson of Vernon, Alabama. He was preceded in death by three children, Danny Henderson, Ricky Feaster, and Gene Feaster. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, October 29, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 30, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with Rev. Carldean Merrifield of Solomon Creek United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery of Goshen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Goshen Care at Home Hospice or Solomon Creek United Methodist Church.
