Crystal L. Brewster

Crystal L. Brewster, 39, of Elkhart died Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Goshen Hospital after a six-year battle with cancer.

She was born February 27, 1979 in Goshen.

On December 27, 2015 she married Kenneth Brewster.

He survives along with two daughters, Anastasia Barbara Dekker, Anela Louise Brewster and a step-daughter, Ashley Nicole Brewster, all at home; her mother, Pamela Delcamp (Drew) Lalor of Bradenton, Florida; her father, Dewayne (Brenda Willard) Yoder of Goshen; siblings Derek (Kristine) Yoder of Lakeville, Cori (Nick) Fry of Goshen, and Phillip (Heather Jeffers) DeLaMater of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and step-brothers, Matthew DeLaMater of Lutz, Florida, Drew Lalor, Jr. and Connor Lalor, both of Bradenton, Florida.

Crystal was a graduate of Hackett High School, Kalamazoo, earning her bachelor’s degree at Western Michigan University.  She later earned a master’s in English at Morehead State University, Kentucky and a master’s in Education at Walden University, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Always an educator, Crystal (Profa) was a Spanish and English Literature teacher the past 14 years at Northridge High School, Middlebury. She was also an academic coach, and enjoyed tutoring cancer patients in their homes.

Crystal was an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend.  She was loved by all who knew her.  Her infectious laugh filled our hearts with joy.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018 from noon until 5 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.  A celebration of Crystal’s life will take place Monday, Aug. 20, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Sugar Grove Church where she attended, 58512 Old C.R. 17, Goshen.  Rev. John Ware will officiate.
