Cornelia Margaret "Coni" Walters, 58, of Goshen, passed away, Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 10, 1956 in Islip, New York and lived in New Jersey most of her life. She also lived in Michigan, Maryland and Pennsylvania. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School, Lodi, New Jersey in 1976 and from St. Mary's College, Orchard Lake, Michigan with an associate's degree in religious education in 1980. Coni spent most of her adult life in education, missionary work and working with children and the disabled. She was the founder of Dream Ministries, an organization whose mission is to provide independent living for adult, disabled women. She was known for her generosity and sense of humor. Survivors include her beloved brother and friend, Gordon, as well as her half-brothers, Anthony and Matthew Walters; and a niece, Dawn Walters. She was blessed with an extensive extended family including the Kaufmanns, Marie, Louise, Jeanne, Christine, Joseph and David and their spouses and children; Ken and Rhoda Mininger, and their daughters, Kiva (Tyler) Mininger Small and their daughter, Emmalynn Grace, and Kiera Mininger and her special friend, Andrew Conte; as well as Ashley Nicole Wooten and Ruth Anne Hoffman, both of whom she shared and lived life with the past nine years. Although Coni never had children of her own; her life was touched by many children whom she held dear and many friends across the country. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alan and Marguerite Patricia "Pat" Walters; and two brothers, Richard and Steward Walters. Friends may call Wednesday, October 29, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. service on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Grace Community Church, Goshen. A funeral mass will be conducted Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrow's Catholic Church, 30 Madona Pl., Garfield, New Jersey 07026. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, 1 Outerwater Lane, Saddlebrook, New Jersey 07663. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following ministries, Dream Ministries c/o Grace Community Church, Goshen or Christian Overcomes, Garfield, NJ or a charity of your choice.
