Corinne Ruth Cripe

Corinne Ruth Cripe, 85, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at The Waters of Syracuse.

She was born October 24, 1938 in Middlebury to McGarvie and Lula (Parrott) Gibson.

On November 28, 1959 she married Richard L. Cripe at the Osceola Church of the Brethren.  He died September 18, 2009.

Survivors include three children, Scott Richard (Elisha) Cripe of Au Train, Michigan, Todd L. Cripe of Syracuse and Kristi Garris of New Paris, nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Janice (Michael) Lamb of Goshen and a special friend and companion, Jack Searls of Syracuse.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Craig Allen Cripe; a sister, Leanna Hooven and three brothers, David, Melvin & Richard Gibson.

A graduate of Middlebury High School, Mrs. Cripe was a member of Maple Grove Community Church and its Women’s Fellowship.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Maple Grove Community Church, 20430 C.R. 46, New Paris from 1 to 3:30 p.m. followed by a 4 p.m. memorial service.  Pastor Dwayne Runkel will officiate.

Burial will be at a later date in Whitehead Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Goshen Home Care and Hospice or Maple Grove Community Church.
