Constance Marie Charles

Constance Marie Charles, 95, of Oak Park, Illinois, died at her home on Thursday, December 21, 2006.  She had been in failing health the past year. She was born on April 21, 1911, in Alliance, Ohio, to Harvey L. and Anna Marie (Brawley) Eby.  On November 27, 1938, she married Andrew J. Charles in Los Angeles, California.  He died October 11, 2003.   She was an elementary and junior high school teacher in Los Angeles County, California.  She moved to the Chicago area in 1990 from Los Angeles.   She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, River Forest Park, Illinois; and a former member of the Cousteau Society, the Sierra Club and the Shakespeare Oxford Society.   She is survived by a daughter, Christine Carroll (Fulgencio) Ramos of Oak Park, Illinois, and three grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Eby Charles in Los Angeles.   A 2:00 p.m., (Central Time) graveside service will be held on January 4, 2007, at Violett Cemetery, Goshen, Indiana.   Memorial contributions may be given to the First Presbyterian Church, River Forest, Illinois.
