Connie E. Ross

Constance “Connie” Ross, 79, of Syracuse passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born October 27, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to John F. and Wanda (Jedrzejak) Slachta.

On May 10, 1975 she married Kenneth Ross.

He survives along with their children, Rosetta Scellato of Chesterton, Dawn (Andy) Kuizin, Wanda Straka, Joe (Elizabeth) Herrera and Eugene (Debbie) Herrera all of Chicago; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jerome “Lad” Slachta of Chicago.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Norbert Slachta.

Mrs. Ross was a loving homemaker and member of New Salem Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed playing BINGO and attending the “500 Club” at the American Legion. Connie enjoyed time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She gravitated towards all things related to angels; and was an avid collector.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 3 p.m. at New Salem Church of the Brethren, 2027 E 900 N, Milford. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m.

Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery.
