Connie Evans

Constance "Connie" L. Evans (Bates), 62, of Goshen, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at IU Health Goshen Hospital. She was born November 9, 1951 in LaPorte to Robert Warren and Gloria (Aylor) Gish. On October 26, 2012 she married LeMar Evans in Nappanee. She is survived by two daughters, Carla (Richard) Gruse of Elkhart, and Tiffiany (Mark) McGahee of Mishawaka; a son, Robert J. Bates of Elkhart; a sister, Kimberly Markusic of Schererville; a brother, Daniel Warren of Calumet; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Jacqueline K. Bates. A property manager for Bison Ridge and Orchard Park Apartments, Connie was also the former owner of International Hair Design, LaPorte. She was a member of the VFW and DAV Auxiliary. Connie loved the outdoors and her puppy, "Rainy." Friends may call from 12 until the 1 p.m. funeral service on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A spring burial will be at a later date in Patten Cemetery, LaPorte.
