Clyde W. Adkins, Sr., 68, of Goshen, died at his home of natural causes and was found Sunday morning, May 29, 2011. He was born July 23, 1942 in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Dan and Gladys (Thacker) Adkins. He worked mainly in the RV industry, working 20 years for Windsor Mobile Homes in Bristol and then at Stowe-Davis where he retired in 2008. He then worked part-time at Carriage. His main hobby was playing music. At one time he played with the band Cross Roads and other local musicians. Mr. Adkins is survived by his son, Clyde "Beau" Adkins, Jr. of Indianapolis and four sisters, Norma Robinson of Mineral, Virginia, Jean Simpson of Ashland, Kentucky, Gloria (Dean Bleile) Rhude of New Paris, and Brenda (Randy) Penland of Goshen, and four brothers, Lawrence Adkins of White Pigeon, Michigan, Cordell Adkins of Ashland, Kentucky, Jack Adkins of Elkhart, and Tracy (Sheryl) Adkins of Goshen. He was preceded in death by a sister, Noma Harris and a brother, William Adkins. There will be no visitation. An 11 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2011, funeral service will be held at Benton Free Baptist Church with Rev. Lindell Krebs officiating. Burial will follow at Solomon's Creek Cemetery, Syracuse.
