Cleo Pletcher Yoder Grabill, 102, of Goshen, died at her home late Saturday night, July 20, 2013. She was born March 21, 1911 in Middlebury to Merrill and Moda (Bontrager) Pletcher. At age 12 she moved to Elkhart. She attended Elkhart High School and sang in the Girls' Glee Club and the church choir. She married Leonard C. Yoder January 10, 1932 at Prairie Street Mennonite Church, Elkhart, in a double ceremony with her sister, Velma and Dr. Virgil Good. He died May 26, 1974. She later married Wilmer J. Grabill January 27, 1979 in Goshen. He died September 5, 1996. She is survived by four sons, Leon (L.C.) Yoder of Austin, Texas, LeVon (Anita) Yoder and Ronald (Connie) Yoder, both of Goshen, and Kenyon (Susan) Yoder of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren, William (Tammy) Yoder, Kimberly Yoder, Carmen Yoder, Teryl Yoder, Britt (Kelly) Newman, Damian (Angie) Yoder, Schatzi Yoder, Tonya (Damian) Cionek, Carrie (Michael) Atkinson and Danielle (Tyler) Turner; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Leota Miller Leer of Middlebury. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, an infant daughter, Frieda; a son, Marvin; two sisters, Myrtis Mann and Velma Good; a brother, Willard; and a foster brother, Ervin Boyer. A former member of North Goshen Mennonite Church, Cleo taught Sunday school and Bible school, sponsored youth activities and was active in the women's organizations. Following her marriage to Wilmer, she attended Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church. Cleo volunteered at the MCC Self-Help Shop, The Window, Goshen General Hospital, Mennonite Disaster Service and Goshen Mennonite Relief Sale. Her special interests included sewing, needlework and rug weaving. She especially enjoyed traveling and entertaining family and friends. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July, 24, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Thursday, July 25, 2013, funeral service will be conducted. Burial will follow in Gracelawn Cemetery, Middlebury. Memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Central Committee.
