Cleo E. Waldrop, 88, of Wakarusa and formerly of Goshen, died early Sunday morning, October 4, 2009, at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, where she had been a resident since February 9, 2004. She was born in Philcampbell, Alabama, on January 22, 1921, to Elias DeJarnet and Vesta Charlene (Kuykendall) Kennedy.  She married Garfield Waldrop on December 3, 1938 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.  He preceded her in death on September 18, 1982. A Goshen resident since 1961, Mrs. Waldrop, worked for Goshen Case Company from 1961 until her retirement in 1986.  A member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church, she enjoyed listening to Gospel music.  She took great pleasure in quilting; she was an accomplished cook and enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by a daughter, Jenell (David) Bemenderfer of Goshen; a son, David (Chris) Waldrop of Syracuse; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; three sisters, Evelyn Staggs of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Avanelle (Jack) Beville of Silversprings, Florida, and Patsy (Bennie) York of Polk City, Florida; and a brother, Dick (Pat) Kennedy of Sidney, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Shelby A. Davis; a son, Charles D. Waldrop; a grandson, Bryan Bemenderfer; and two sisters, Leo Reeve and Imargene Lovelace. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, at Yoder-Culp  Funeral Home. A 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at First Brethren Church, Goshen.  Pastor John Drexler will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Pentecostal Church or First Brethren Church.
