Clarice "Chris" L. Juday

Clarice “Chris” L. Juday, 98, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Hubbard Hill Living Wisdom Community.

She was born July 27, 1923 in Alma, Michigan to Clarence and Grace (Allen) Tueller.

On March 4, 1944 she married Richard A. Nelson in Goshen. He died March 18, 1976. She later married Harold L. Juday. He died July 5, 1997.

Clarice is survived by two sons, Michael Allen (Tona) Nelson of Beaufort, North Carolina and Jon Lewis (Barbara) Nelson of Goshen; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands and a daughter, Judith Wegmiller.

Chris studied nursing at Alma College, Michigan, worked as a medical assistant in many local doctors’ offices and volunteered for the Goshen Hospital Auxiliary.She was a member of First Brethren Church, and was active in various organizations including, Federated Women’s Club, Elkhart County Historical Society, Goshen Women’s Club, and the Red Hat Society.

Visitation will be Monday, February 21, 2022 from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Clinton Union Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be directed to First Brethren Church, Goshen.
