Clarence W. Gingerich, 73, died Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born January 31, 1947 in Kalona, Iowa to Willard and Susie Alice (Yoder) Gingerich.
Survivors include two daughters, Jessica Gingerich of Bristol and Lisa (Sam) Beachy of Nappanee; a step-son, Dale Hoke, Jr. of Bristol; a sister, Carolyn (Alvin) Geigley; and a brother, Dale (Elaine) Gingerich.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry in 1987.
A long-time area resident, Mr. Gingerich owned and operated Gingerich Excavating. While serving briefly in the U.S. military he worked in a mental hospital.
Clarence was very involved in the Elkhart County Abate Program.
Visitation will take place Sunday, December 6, 2020, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m. Monday, funeral service will be conducted. Rev. Terry Tyler will officiate.
According to the Elkhart County Health mandate masks will be worn during visitation and funeral services, along with social distancing and limiting the number of guests.
Burial will be at Salem Cemetery, New Paris.
