Clara B. Kuhns, 81, of Goshen, died at her home Saturday morning, October 31, 2009. She was born in Topeka, Kansas, on June 26, 1928, to Ben and Malinda (Miller) Borntrager. She married Raymond F. Kuhns on June 8, 1957, in Goshen. He preceded her in death on February 27, 1973. A lifelong resident of the area, Mrs. Kuhns worked at Meijer stocking shelves. She was a member of Clinton Frame Mennonite Church. She is survived by three daughters, Malinda Marie (Thomas) Zook of Alto, Michigan, Mary Kathryn (Lavon) Yoder of New Paris and Susan Elaine Yoder of Elkhart; a son, John R. Kuhns of New Paris; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Elizabeth (John) Helmuth, Edna (Freeman) Miller and Esther (Don) Galloway, all of Topeka, and Ida (Ralph) Johnson of LaGrange. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Polly Fry and Mary Yutzy; and three brothers, Martin, Daniel, and Joe Borntrager. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, November 2, and one hour before the service on Tuesday at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church. A 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church. Pastors Terry Diener and Jeff Mumaw will officiate. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Clinton Frame Mennonite Church for the Library.
