Clara Eleanor Dintaman

Clara Eleanor Dintaman, 84, of Goshen, died Friday, June 3, 2016 at her Greencroft apartment.  She had been in failing health the past seven months.

She was born September 30, 1931 in Akron, New York to Richard and Louise (Ulrich) Wideman.

On June 2, 1962 she married Walter Dintaman in Elkhart.  He died November 10, 2010.

Clara is survived by two daughters, Linda (James) Martin of Apex, North Carolina and Lisa (Gregg) Skinner of The Woodlands, Texas; four grandchildren; and a sister, Arlene (Leighton) Snyder of Akron, New York.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Leona Troyer and a brother, Leon Wideman.

Clara was a graduate of Goshen College and earned a Master’s of Education from Indiana University.  She was an elementary school teacher and a private tutor prior to retirement.

As a member of North Goshen Mennonite Church, she taught children’s and adult Sunday school for many years.  She also served on the grounds and landscape committee both at the church and later at Manor IV on the Goshen Greencroft campus.

Friends may call Monday, June 6, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  An 11 a.m. memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at North Goshen Mennonite Church.  Rev. Mark Schloneger will officiate.

A private entombment will take place Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 9 a.m. at Rice Cemetery, Elkhart.

Memorial contributions may be given to Mennonite Central Committee or North Goshen Mennonite Church.
