Claire Antle, 83, of Indianapolis and formerly of St. Petersburg, Florida and Goshen, passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 19, 2014 at Westminster Village North. She was born July 19, 1931 in Salinas, Kansas to Gordon and Inez Belva (Wilson) Mann, and in 1952 she earned a bachelor's degree from Ball State University in Muncie. Later, on Nov. 28, 1953, Claire married Rev. Benjamin Antle in Goshen at the First United Methodist Church. The couple subsequently had two children, Mark and Debbie, while serving in the ministry in several towns in northern Indiana. When they retired from the ministry in 1987, they relocated to St. Petersburg, FL. After the pair enjoyed living more than 20 years in sunny Florida, Claire's husband passed away in 2008. Remaining survivors include her two children, Debbie (Mick) Peek and Mark Antle, both of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Peek of Bellingham, Washington, Christian and Benjamin Peek both of Indianapolis; and a brother, Robert (Glenda) Mann of Kokomo. Visitation will be held from noon until 1p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23 at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in Goshen. At 1p.m., Rev. Susan Martin will officiate at a funeral service held at the funeral home, and then immediately afterward, a burial ceremony will occur at Violett Cemetery in Goshen. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Indiana United Methodist Church.
