Elkhart- Christine Stasiak, 80, passed away at her residence, on Saturday, December 21, 2024.
Christine (Chris) was born July 17, 1944, in Suhl, Germany during WWII, and was the second oldest of 7 children of Frank and Josephine (Binczak) Kotowski. After the war, the family immigrated to the United States in February of 1950, first settling in Kentucky and approximately seven months later finally settling in South Bend, Indiana. Chris, along with her siblings, attended St. Hedwig Catholic School and she graduated from Central High School.
Chris worked as an Executive Assistant at Miles Laboratories, which was eventually acquired by Bayer Corporation where she retired at the age of 64. Through their common workplace, Chris met the love of her life, Edmund (Ed) Stasiak, marrying on August 23, 1975 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in South Bend. They eventually settled in Elkhart, Indiana where Ed continues to reside.
Chris is also survived by her siblings, Diane Weymon of South Bend, George Kotowski of Goose Creek, SC, Barbara Kromkowski of South Bend, Mary Lass of South Bend, and Ted Kotowski of North Liberty. She was also blessed with many nieces and nephews who she cherished as her own.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Josephine and her sister, Helen.
Chris loved to bake, cook, and entertain her family and friends. There was not a recipe that she could not master. Her family was her guinea pig on new recipes. She also loved to travel with Ed and has seen nearly every U.S. state with her favorite being Maine to eat lobster. She was also the family photo librarian capturing every milestone which they will now cherish those memories she captured.
Christine will be cremated. There will be visitation from 12-1 p.m. until the 1 p.m. Celebration of Life service, on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
