Chester G. Shrock

Chester Glenn Shrock, 94, of Goshen, died Tuesday afternoon, September 28, 2010, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. He was born July 3, 1916, to the late Altine Sankey and Lydia E. (Schrock) Shrock.  He married Vivian Weldy on May 14, 1938, in Wakarusa.  She died August 26, 2001. A member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church, Mr. Shrock worked at Hettricks and Goshen Rubber.  He was a member of the Third of July Club and enjoyed walking three miles a day for many years. He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn (Ralph) Hartman of Goshen; a son, Max (Dixie) Shrock of Goshen; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil, Verlin and Delton Shrock; and three sisters, Opal Lantz, Beulah Whirledge, and Gola Wilson. Friends may call 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, October 2, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 2:30 p.m., Sunday, October 3, 2010, funeral service will be held at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, Goshen.  Pastors Ron Diener and Tyler Hartford will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant View Mennonite Church.
