Cherie L. Gall, 72, of Milford, died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, December 11, 2005. She was born May 5, 1933 in Middlebury, Indiana, to Virgil and Mary (Bloss) Dowty. On June 9, 1951, she married John Ervin Gall at the Bethany Church of the Brethren in New Paris. He preceded her on January 22, 2005. She worked as a Certified Nurses’ Assistant with both Goshen General Hospital and Greencroft Living Center. Mrs. Gall was a member of the Bethany Church of the Brethren where she played the organ. She also attended the Sebring Church of the Brethren in Sebring, Florida. Mrs. Gall was a past member of the Extension Homemakers. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking. She collected owls and loved being a grandma. She is survived by three sons, David (Marcia) Gall of Goshen, J. Andy (Cheryl) Gall and Marty (Deb) Gall and a daughter Wanda Gall, all of New Paris; a son-in-law, Rick Carey of Phoenix, Arizona, thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Ellen Stump and Lois (Rodger) Hunsberger, both of Goshen; and two brothers, Dean Dowty of Syracuse and Vernon (Jean) Dowty of Ossian, Indiana. Friends will be received 2 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 13, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2005, funeral service will be held at the Bethany Church of the Brethren, New Paris. Pastor Tim Sollenberger-Morphew will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the Baintertown Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Bethany Church of the Brethren.
