Charles A. Wiederman, 78, of Middlebury, died early Wednesday morning, September 16, 2009, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. He was born June 4, 1931 in Leonidas, Michigan, to George and Jennie Marie (Stump) Wiederman.  He married Geraldine A. Pederson, on November 19, 1958, in Arlington, South Dakota.  She survives. A longtime resident of the Goshen/Middlebury area, Mr. Wiederman worked for Johnson Controls for 34 years. He attended Goshen High School and was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.  He was in the US Marine Corps for four years, serving in Korea for one and a half years.  He was a lifetime member of the Goshen VFW Post #985. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Jennifer Wiederman and Elizabeth (Ken) Bontrager, both of Elkhart; a son, Charles P. (Christine) Wiederman of Middlebury; a daughter-in-law, Lois Wiederman of Elkhart; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Haager of Hammond, and Georgia Pitt of Marshall, Michigan; and a brother, Robert (Lois) Wiederman of Goshen. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Wiederman in 1998; three brothers, Lloyd, Harold, and Glen Wiederman; and a sister, Katherine Hoovener. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 18, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. An 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2009, funeral service will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Goshen.  Pastor Andrew J. Wollman will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
