Charles R. Vance

Charles R. Vance, 83, of Goshen, died Sunday, October 30, 2011, at IU Health Goshen Hospital. He was born in Millersburg on October 12, 1928, to William and Elizabeth (Holderman) Vance. He married Dorothy M. Shoup September 24, 1950 in Goshen. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Denise (Glen) Blosser of Niagra, Wisconsin and Diane (Tommy) Vaughn of Riverview, Florida; three grandchildren, Michelle (Carey) West, Erik (Diane) Blosser and Kevin (Kayley) Blosser; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Naomia Grissom and Linabelle (B.G.) Hoogenboom. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna M. Vance and four siblings, Catherine Wysong, Henry Vance, Kenneth Vance and Elizabeth Elder. Mr. Vance was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen. There will be no visitation. Mr. Vance donated his body to IU Medical School. A 1:30 p.m., memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen. Pastor John Hickey will officiate.
