Charles E. Tredway

Charles E. Tredway, of Goshen,  loving husband and father, entered eternal life at age 79 on Sunday, January 3, 2021.

He was born March 11, 1941 in Cuzco to Roscoe and Gladys (Wineinger) Tredway.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Vicki; two children, Jana Sue (Bob) and Tracy (Nikki); a sister, Mary Bish; five grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Mindy, Jessica and Travis; three step-grandchildren, Avri, Ross and Alexandra Pearson; four great-grandchildren, Natalie, Whitney, Marshall and Lilly and a former wife, Janet Nallenweg.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Martin.

Charles graduated from Goshen High School in 1959 and attended Goshen College.  He worked at Johnson Controls, formerly Penn Controls, as a quality control engineer for 39 years until they closed.  He then worked for KMC until his retirement.

Charles enjoyed sports, writing for The Goshen News for many years.   He was passionate about photography and genealogy.  He was an incredible photographer and spent tireless hours on genealogy research resulting in the publishing of books for both sides of his family (Tredway and Wineinger) as well as co-ordinating the Indiana genealogy website for Orange, DuBois and Martin counties.  Other hobbies included ballroom dancing, which he taught, and fishing.  He was an avid Indiana University basketball fan and a Notre Dame football fan.

Charlie will always be remembered for his selfless heart and enduring tenderness.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 7, 2021, at 9 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pastor Lenny Krebs will officiate.

Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.
