Charles Lester Reed, 79, of Goshen, went to heaven with family by his side, Thursday, July 7, 2022 at his home.
He was born March 14, 1943 in Goshen to Charles D. Reed and Helen Marie (Garlick) Prough.
On June 14, 1963, he married Judith Ann Cripe in Goshen. She went to heaven June 17, 2021.
He is survived by two children, Rob (Tane) Reed and Tamera (Skip) Long, both of Goshen; seven grandchildren, Heather (Justin) Hernandez, Austin Reed, Hannah Reed, Emily Reed, Katie Reed and Megan and Wendy Long; two great-grandchildren, Laurent and Aviella; a brother Terry (Penny) Reed of Goshen and two sisters, Carol Yoder of Goshen and Tanya (Monte) Holdeman of Wakarusa.
Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his step-father, Harvey Prough; a son, Allen Reed; a brother, Steven Brett Sayles and a step-brother, Bill Reed.
Charles was a Goshen High School graduate and worked in the RV and Mobile Home industry. His working career included 19 years at Globemaster, nine years at Carriage with his son Allen in Millersburg and eight years at Goshen Sash & Door with his son Rob until his retirement in 2003.
Charles and Judy had an unending love for each other, they traveled as often as they could and they enjoyed going for rides out in the country looking for deer. He also enjoyed playing cards with his family, going to the casino, buying lottery tickets and he liked to watch Jimmy Johnson race.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 11, 2022 and Tuesday, July 12 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Brown will officiate.
Burial will follow in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorial donations may be given to Goshen Salvation Army or Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
