Charles “Charlie” R. Myers, 93, of North Manchester and formerly of Goshen, died early Sunday morning, January 30, 2011, at Timbercrest Healthcare. He was born November 7, 1917, in York, Pennsylvania, to the late Howard and Estella (Latchaw) Myers. He married Lois I. Michael on December 11, 1965 in Goshen. She died October 24, 2006. He is survived by a daughter, Wendy Myers: two grandsons, Ian (Amelia) Garrett and Joshua Garrett; and a great-granddaughter, Zoe Garrett, all of Bloomington. He was preceded in death by a brother, Curvin Myers, and two sisters, Mildred Rice and Yvonne Naill. He owned and operated Myers Plumbing & Heating in York, Pennsylvania. A Goshen resident from 1966 to 2001, Mr. Myers worked for Farm Bureau Co-op, Goshen, sold insurance and farmed while living in Goshen. He moved to North Manchester in 2001. He was an ordained minister in the Church of the Brethren and a former member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren. Friends may call 2 to 6 p.m., Friday, February 4, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. An 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011, funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home with Timothy Yoder of Goshen City Church of the Brethren officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heifer International or Habitat for Humanity.
